Ralph Hill at Hollow Creek This Weekend!

If you missed Otter Creek's Spring Horse Trials, there's another chance this weekend to catch some eventing fun at a Ralph Hill clinic at Hollow Creek Farm in Menomonie, WI.

Ralph Hill is a very highly respected 4 star veteran and eventing instructor. In fact, he has the distinction of being the only rider to compete in every Rolex from its inception in 1978 to 2007.  A fall sidelined him from competition but has nothing to dampen his dedication to the sport.  He is busy coaching and teaching clinics across the country.

Hollow Creek Farm has a 72' x 144' indoor arena, a 155' x 165' outdoor stadium arena, and a full cross country course with jumps for starter through training level. The clinic runs Friday-Sunday with dressage private lessons and groups of 2-4 for stadium and cross country. Auditing is FREE, and water bottles provided for all.

Questions?  Contact Lucy Lammer, 715-235-0593 LucyL@wwt.net

Susanne Winslade clinic this weekend

Susanne Winslade is coming to Victoria Station in Grant, MN this weekend for a clinic.  Susanne is an FEI dressage rider, trainer, & instructor but she also works with eventers, jumpers, and even driven dressage clientele. She trained for years with Kathy Connelly who helped her campaign her Westfalen stallion North Star to the FEI level. Susanne is also a Level IV Pony Club National Examiner.

Susanne has a unique approach combining biomechanics, innovative imagery, and classical principles.

Some of Susanne's quotes that I love:

"Good contact is like holding hands with someone you love"

"We must always strive to be part of the horse's solutions, never part of his dilemmas."

"It doesn't matter what the horse does; it matters what we choose to do about it."

Auditors welcome! There might even be a few ride openings left.

Visit Harmony Farm at Victoria Station and take in the grass pastures, insulated indoor arena, and full-size outdoor arena.

12400 210th St., Lakeville, MN

This cozy little bit of horse heaven in Lakeville could be yours!   Just imagine driving down this driveway past the horse pasture and barn to your 4 bedroom home…

This is the view of the barn from the driveway, showing the large garage door entrance.

The barn has stalls with rubber mats on one side of the concrete aisle and a heated tack room and feed room on the other side.

Here’s a view of one of the spacious box stalls with windows, a hay feeder, and a collapsible saddle rack on the outside of the door.

This is the heated tack and feed room with saddle and bridle racks and plenty of space for feed containers, supplements, and more.

Outside the horses enjoy an extensive pasture on rolling hills with 3-rail fencing and a pond.

The horses also have access to this expansive shelter area to get in out of the rain, wind, and snow.  There’s plenty of room here for 4 or more horses and note the automatic waterer also.

For riding, you can enjoy this outdoor arena which is quite large and surrounded by 3-rail wood fencing.

The house has gorgeous views of the horse pastures with mature trees throughout.

This lovely home has hardwood floors, large windows, and beautiful architecture.

Picture yourself soaking in this peaceful bathtub in the master bathroom.

Here’s the front entrance of the home, showing the 4-stall garage and attractive landscaping.

18591 Mushtown Road, Prior Lake, MN

This lovely home and barn in Prior Lake are perfect for the serious rider who wants a peaceful place to enjoy their horses at home!

With winter just now finally behind us, you’ll be happy to hear that this hobby farm has a fully heated barn with 7 stalls.  The entire barn is wall-to-wall matted so horses won’t slip on wet concrete and it’s wide enough for 3 horses to be in crossties at once.

Here’s a photo of one of the box stalls (10 x 11) which also have rubber mats, Nelson automatic waterers, and sliding doors.

The barn also boasts an insulated indoor arena and an outdoor wash rack, each with hot and cold water, and an insulated tack room, to keep it warm in the winter and dry in the summer to prevent mold.

There is also a 60’ by 120’ indoor arena which is connected to the barn.  The arena has mirrors and a 2nd story viewing area.

Outdoors the facility has a USEF official size (20m x 60m) dressage area with trac sand footing and fenced with 4’ split rail.

There is also a 70’ x 300’ large fenced arena with an announcing/judging stand complete with electric outlets and mixed sand footing and a jumping field which is unfenced and approximately 100’ x 300’.

There are grass pastures, paddocks with shelters for the horses as well on 20 acres.

There’s a 600-bale capacity hay loft and extra room for hay storage in the 2nd barn, as well as a building to store shavings. The 2nd barn is insulated and has 3 foaling stalls (12 x 15) and outdoor stalls (10 x 15) in the California style.

All of this comes with a lovely spilt level 4-BR home with hardwood floors.

There’s even a caretaker’s apartment above the main barn with a living room, bedroom, kitchen and full bath.  There’s even a ¾ bath in the main barn/indoor arena area.
